Sunshine State of Mind

For spring break in March, my girls and I took a trip to the sunshine state, and since then I can't get it out of my mind. We embarked on our journey on March 3, 2019 at the very early hour of 3:30 am. Of course, being normal teenage girls, my friends and I were at each other's throats after being forced out of bed so early, but who cares? We were on our way to paradise! In case you didn't know, I love being in charge. As usual, I was the ring leader of the trip that I never thought would happen when I randomly blurted it out one evening over winter break. My friend Devyn had also mentioned the trip when I was over at her house one night, and it was that day that we began searching the internet for cheap plane tickets and a way to make this dream vacation a reality. After a lot of tears and even more planning, we had convinced our parents and wrangled our girls into our plan which meant THIS WAS REALLY HAPPENING! After even more planning and tears, our trip was set and all of the small details had been worked out. After arising at the ripe hour or 3:00 am, the 5 of us quite literally rolled out of bed in and to the lobby of our dorm, eye crustys, ratty hair, and all. It was NOT a pretty sight. We argued over who was going to call an uber, and after loading our mountain of bags into the gigantic car, we were on our way. I could tell the driver wasn't too thrilled to be driving 5 arguing girls to the airport at 4 in the morning, but hey, he's the one who's driving for uber during the early hours of the morning, so what more does he expect. After getting to the airport, we did all the usual stuff, bag check, TSA, head to the terminal and wait. Obviously this is the "most exciting" part of the entire story... not. After arriving at Orlando airport, my grandparents who travel to Florida in the winter, picked us up and filled our hearts, and most importantly our stomachs with a never ending supply of mini donuts and juice boxes. What more could a girl ask for, honestly. We had a long drive ahead of us since we were heading to Daytona Beach, but don't worry, DJ Linsswagggg in the front seat had us covered, playing all the hits, and best of all irritating the living hell out of all of the tired and grumpy people in the truck. (You're welcome) After hours of entertaining the truck, we were finally there. I think a tear might have rolled down my cheek as the sun beamed down and engulfed my entire body... I'm totally kidding, but I was super excited to FINALLY be at the beach. We had a quick meal and headed off to grab our swim suits and get changed before finally hitting the beach. Now, this is where the story gets interesting, so if you weren't paying attention before, you might wanna open your ears for this one. As we all know, Florida is home the the worlds BIGGEST population of old people... surprise surprise. So it comes as no shocker that there was a duo of crotchety old people just waiting to attack us and we grabbed our belongings. This is how the story go's. We approached the truck to grab our beach stuff just as these old people were about to pull out of their parking spot. They had plenty of room to get out of their spot and my friend Lily was about to shut her door when they started honking at us. So obviously we were all just standing there like "wtf are you honking at the whole back of the parking lot is empty just back out." But no. They then starting verbally attacking Lily and telling her that she might want to put a shirt on with that, implying that she shouldn't be wearing the swim suit that might I add wasn't even on her body yet, just in her hand. She just stood there and ignored them, hoping that they would just back out of their spot... nope. They honked even more and the lady just started screaming. So obviously I stepped in and was like "Dude what are you honking at" and you want to know what this lady yelled at me. "Stop harassing us or we're calling the cops." Okay first of all, none of us have said a word AT ALL, and you're the one who just got done sexually objectifying my friend, but OKAY! So I'm like "Bro we haven't done a single thing" and this is when she steps out of her car and at this point I am ready to throw hands with this lady. She pulls out her camera is starts trying to take pictures of the license plate, so I say, "Hey this isn't even my truck can you please not take pictures of the license plate we didn't do anything." And she responds, "The cops are on their way, I would watch what you say I have the whole thing on video." So I'm standing there completely baffled because I'm not even sure what this lady is going to show to the cop that is on his way since we literally haven't said a thing, it's just her harassing us. To make the situation worse she goes, "you know it's really rude to harass an old person." Okay lady, are you kidding me right now, do you know how rude it is to harass a person who hasn't done anything to you... because um that's what you're doing. I respond and I say, "I don't know what you're talking about, you're the one who is harassing us." This is when her husband steps in and states, "Will you just shut up, you're just a bunch of dumb bitches." Well excuse me sir, but I think that you're just being an ass. At this point, I am just fed up so I grab my stuff and we all start to walk away as this lady is still screaming at yelling like a lunatic. I told my mommom what had happened and she went over to talk to them and tell them that there were no teenage girls over at the truck, and they should just go home an take a nap (my mommom is a savage) but to our dismay they were gone. WHICH PROVES MY POINT THAT THEY HAD ENOUGH ROOM TO GET OUT AND THEY WERE JUST BEING NASTY. We spent the whole day on the beach sipping on Pina Coladas and basking in the sun instead of getting caught in the rain (get it). The next day was my friend Devyn's birthday which I wish had some fun story, but instead it was just cold and rainy. Two days later though, I randomly decided to get a tattoo, which I can picture below and spent approx. $260 on uber. We also went to a night club that day and got hit on by really scary old men which was a turn of events from a frat party so that was interesting. The next day we had to fly home and say hello to cold and snowy Pennsylvania, but honestly it was one of the best trips I have ever been on and I highly recommend making the best of spring break! I loved spending time with my friends, and I really hope that we can do it all over again!
